For the private sector, the Carbon Trust offers interest free loans of £3,000 - £500,000 for organisations to invest in energy saving projects, such as the Exact Voltage Control system. The loans are unsecured, completely interest-free and cost nothing to apply for, and is designed to produce savings within the free finance period. These loans are basically financed by charging penalties to those companies that do not comply and fail to reduce their Carbon footprint.
